new piece for Open House Chicago

Saturday, October 13, I will premiering (approximately 6 times!) a new piece:
After the fire, quarries dynamited for bassoon and fixed media.

Access Contemporary Music commissioned this project as part of the annual Open House Chicago events organized by the Chicago Architecture Foundation.  One of four ACM composers working at different buildings throughout the city, I have written the piece inspired by the material textures and history of the Nickerson Mansion. I will be performing the piece every 20-30 minutes from 1-4 PM on the third floor of the house (which is also known as the Driehaus Museum).

Summer 2012

SUN 06/24 - Till by Turning
In anticipation of our summer trip to Germany to record a new album, members of TILL BY TURNING -- violinist Erica Dicker, violist Amy Cimini, and I -- present a summer afternoon of music.

TBT will be joined by two very special guests: singer/song-writer Kent Lambert and composer/electronicist Ryan Ingebritsen.

This concert helps us launch our Kickstarter campaign to raise the remaining money necessary to make this recording project possible, and the program features previews of my album-length piece "Four Chambered Heart," which we will record in August at the Klangbad Studio run by Joachim Irmler of Faust.

The record is slated for a 2013 release on Klangbad's imprint, and we've already raised half the money through grants. But with this concert and our Kickstarter, we hope to raise the remainder. More details about the Kickstarter forthcoming...
